MANAGEMENT UPDATE.
A GREAT NEW PUBLIC SERVICE RESOURCE
Good news for people interested in public service and administration – both academics and practitioners: The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) has just launched a newly revamped and easily navigable website, full of content that is both timely and useful.
Headlined “the home for public service professionals,” it is of great use to members of ASPA, as some of the content is behind firewalls, but there’s plenty to see for anyone interested in public service and administration.

In addition to information about the organization and its work (truth in advertising: we are executive advisors). Some of the highlights include:
Critical Takeaways. This is a new ASPA series “designed to help practitioners, scholars and students stay informed and engaged on the most important issues for our profession. Each edition offers insights into a recent ASPA e-learning program: what it covered, why it matters and how it relates to the public service community.”
PATimes. The website offers easy-to-follow guidelines for submitting articles to this weekly publication, which covers news trends and best practices in public administration. Every Friday, it’s sent out as a weekly digest to more than 15,000 subscribers. In addition, you’ll find a link to back issues of this publication.
The Bridge. “ASPA’s monthly newsletter for the public service community,” which provides details about ASPA’s events, but also includes curated information from the wider world of public administration and service.
Information about the Annual Conference, which is being held this year from April 9–13, 2027 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
ASPA Webinars. The organization hosts a series of webinars throughout the year covering a wide variety of management, performance and public service topics including finance, human resources, performance management, ethics, crisis management, social equity and more. The live events are available to all and can be seen on demand for ASPA members-only.
A section about the H. George Frederickson Center for Social Equity, which attempts to “advance social equity in public administration, through education, research, engagement and practice by serving as a hub for information, training, advocacy and resource sharing.”
Information about the Center for Accountability and Performance which helps “public administration and nonprofit professionals acquire the knowledge, technical skills and resources necessary to successfully manage their entities in ways that will help to achieve results.”
(Personal note here: We may be biased thanks to our involvement in ASPA, but we feel obliged to point you to the section of the website that provides information about joining. We’d recommend it!)
